Description
CLOVE consists of dried flower buds of the Syzygium aromaticum tree, harvested before they bloom. For centuries, they grew exclusively on a few Indonesian islands, making them one of the world’s most valuable spices and the cause of colonial wars for control over the Moluccas.
The oil contains eugenol, a compound with documented stimulating effects on the nervous system, as well as antibacterial and antifungal properties. In aromatherapy, clove is valued for its impact on concentration and sense of agency, especially during periods of fatigue and lack of motivation. Its purifying properties make it a popular choice for diffusion during the autumn and winter seasons.
In fragrance compositions, it acts as the heart of the blend. It adds structure, grounds overly light citrus notes, and enhances woody tones, making the whole composition more enveloping.
